Urban Alchemy

I answer my emails, even the weird stuff from readers who have mistaken me for Martha Stewart and want my opinion on their choice of duvet covers. I always answer online dating emails too, including the one I received a few days ago that was written by a highly talented seducer in Pittsburgh. Initially, I found it provocative and inspiring, putting words together that make men explode — that was really fun for a few days. He stopped writing after I said “No” to mailing him my underwear.

My favorite emails come from friends, some I haven’t met yet. Emails that contain dialogue that whispers to me there are unexpressed thoughts they hold deep in their hearts — hints of rapid growth and radical change. Emails that grow into sharing stories, bridging gaps between transformation and the lessons from our past. The dialogue that illuminates hope and wisdom at a cross roads. The paradigm shifts before our eyes … the moments we observe in our personal and professional lives, the things that are meant to be shared and open to dialogue.

And this morning when I remembered that my body is a temple, and the earth is a temple … I remembered that we all exist in a temple. And now I’m going off to read Hafiz through the weekend. Taking a break from the emails, from readers who need their own blog.

Oh well said indeed!! You know it’s why I left facebook and stayed with just my blog. I found that this was far more real. Even with those I have never met I have had some very intense and interesting conversations. Unlike fakebook. Enjoy your respite and come back to us – your readers – soon.

dawn, enjoy your break. someone told me today that the best advice she ever got at the start of her career was to make sure to put “her self” on her to-do list every day.

i have to figure out what that line item would mean for me. i think my blog fills a gap, and i sure do enjoy my coffee and a walk every morning.

i am glad you are taking time for you. even those with generous souls and a caring heart need to feed themselves.

    hugs,
    lynette

Why so stingy with your underwear? ;)

Fantasia, I enjoyed your blog. Wow, you have a talent for blowing mens minds. Seriously, do you get paid for that stuff?

Lynette, my mind gets calmer with every line you write. Yes, every day, what do I need? A coffee black as night sweetened with sugar sounds perfect right now. How I wish you were my neighbor.

I’m selfish Cyndi, that’s why. ;-) I’ve become more selfish since I accepted my bitch status months ago on your blog.

Oh Dawn!! bless you! no I do not get paid. But I do have a book in the wings for publishing that Black Lace are looking at. Who knows what will happen with that. I do it for fun. Because too many of us forget that side. We forget to feed it, play with it … enjoy it.

That’s true, too many of us forget that side of being human. Maybe it has to do with fear of being viewed as a whore instead of a sexual human. I’m glad we don’t buy into such notions.

You’ve stirred my imagination to great heights, Black Lace is lucky to find you ;-)

dawn, i sure do wish we lived close by too. maybe we will all have to plan that red convertible trip for real :)

  8. Dawn Says:

Yes, I see absolutely no reason why we shouldn’t figure that out. I’m kind of thinking that the ocean would sway all of us more than a baron highway with Ghost Towns. Let’s go to the beach. July 15th anyone?

  9. Cyndi Says:

Ocean, red convertible….I say we do this my cougar friends! :)

  10. lynetteb Says:

ocean is good…. what an interesting time this would be…. thoughts?

  11. Dawn Says:

I slept on this! I drive to Cyndi, we drive to Les, and come to pick you up. Here’s an idea that has me on fire: a private cottage on the ocean, something like this: http://tiny.cc/4rD5h

Ocean. Awesome women. Road trip. Red convertible. Better than “Senior Week!”

this has the potential for “chick lit” written all over it. way better than “senior week” — although to those college kids, they may see something like this as “senior week” :D
